How do I sign up for SchoolMessenger?

There is no need to sign up for SchoolMessenger. The contact information you submit via Infinite Campus during registration is used by SchoolMessenger for sending messages. Please ensure that you do not block messages from SchoolMessenger and that you provide contact information in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal that allows the school to contact you in case of an emergency.


What type of messages will I receive from SchoolMessenger?

SchoolMessenger will be used to send everything from snow closure alerts to attendance messages and classroom updates. Parents may also receive notices about student's failing grades. Information about staff arrests may be sent via SchoolMessenger. If you have added your child's cell phone or email address they will receive these messages.


Is SchoolMessenger secure?

Your student's information is stored on a secure server and all personal data is sent in an encrypted format. Please remember, just like with any application, if you give your password (to Infinite Campus) to anyone, including your child, your contact information can be changed and messages regarding attendance, grades, and emergencies can be diverted or discontinued.


Can messages be sent in languages other than English?

Yes, SchoolMessenger can send information in multiple languages. You should select your language preference when you complete the student registration process.


How can I activate text messaging?

To start receiving text messages from the school via SchoolMessenger, you must provide a phone number in Infinite Campus during the registration process and indicate text messages (SMS) as a preference. Then activate the text message account by texting the word YES to 68453.


Can I receive information on my students at a long distance number?

Yes, beginning in 2013, Jeffco's SchoolMessenger began calling long distance numbers. Messages cannot be sent to telephone extensions.

*Jeffco Public Schools does not pay for text message charges that may be incurred by the user. Check with your cell phone provider for possible charges.
