Employee Benefits for Full and Part-Time Employees

Benefits are an integral part of the overall compensation package provided by Jeffco Public Schools, and we recognize that they are an important decision point for you. To help you understand what benefits you may qualify for and the additional value of district-provided benefits, use the benefits guide below. Your benefits guide will answer many of the questions you may have.

Full-time employees are those regularly scheduled for 30 or more hours per week. Part-time, benefits-eligible employees are those regularly scheduled for 20 to less than 30 hours per week.

Benefits Applicable to All Employees

All employees participate in PERA and are eligible to participate in the voluntary retirement plans.

As a district employee, you will not pay into social security. Instead, you will be contributing 11.00% of your eligible earnings to PERA to fund your future retirement benefits. Your employer contributes 21.40% of your eligible earnings.

Voluntary Retirement Plans: Jeffco TSA/403(b) / PERA 401(k) / PERA 457 Plans

All employees of the district, even those that are variable or seasonal in nature (such as substitutes, coaches, game workers, and otherwise non-benefited employees) are able to participate in the district's voluntary retirement plans. These plans are designed to help supplement your income in retirement by making contributions from your paycheck during your working career.

Paid Time Off

Eligibility for sick, vacation and personal days varies depending on your employee classification and work schedule. District employees will learn more about these benefits during the HR onboarding process. Charter school employees should check directly with their school.
