Please join us for an evening with Nick Thompson.  Nick will be discussing strategies and support for re-engaging gifted students after Covid.  He will also be sharing tips on student motivation, managing anxiety, and allowing kids to fail (how parents can manage their own anxiety, decide how/when to push, and when to allow kids to fail).

Nick Thompson Bio
Nick is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of North Dakota. Nick has been working with youth and their families for over 15 years in a variety of settings including middle and high schools, private practice, residential treatment facilities, and detention centers.

Nick has a private practice in Boulder, Colorado. He also gives trainings and presentations to students, staff of school districts, and parents, and hosts “The Nick Thompson Podcast," which offers strategies to improve wellbeing for students and parents alike. His past professional experience includes working as a Mental Health Interventionist, and serving as lead parent facilitator for iTHRIVE, an early substance abuse intervention program for teens and their parents.

Nick's holistic approach to working with kids and families includes: a focus on physical health, mental, social and emotional space, psychoeducation, related neuroscience and developmental connections.

Nick is passionate about assisting youth and their families, realizing adolescence is a time of great opportunity and not just a phase to survive.
